Animikii Theatre in collaboration with the Vonnegut Collective are opening up their rehearsal process to six early-career artists of music or theatre discipline for their forthcoming R&D on the play, The Feral Project.
The Feral Project is a cross-art collaboration looking to create new working methods into the devising of a play through the use of acting, movement and live music. Animikii Theatre and Vonnegut Collective are two experimental companies who work heavily with improvisation through physicality and music, and are seeking applications from early-career musicians, composers and theatre artists to join them at one of three R&D weeks at The Point in Eastleigh (28th May - 1st June), The Lowry in Salford (3rd - 7th June) and The Dukes in Lancaster (22nd - 25th July).
One musician and one theatre artist will be selected for each project week where they will shadow Artistic Director Adam Davies and Vonnegut Collective’s Gary Farr and Gemma Bass, helping to create their new production.
The project will culminate in live and recorded sharings of developing work, and then seek to rehearse and tour through 2020 and 2021 where two positions will be made available for paid apprenticeships.
This opportunity is an excellent chance to get in on the ground with two exciting companies on a project that has ambitions to tour to studio, rural, and music venues across the UK.
We encourage submissions from under represented backgrounds in theatre including LGBTQ, gender, disability, BAME, those with caring responsibilties and low income earners. Funding is available for travel and expenses.
Please send a short 250 word statement specifying why this opportunity is right for you, and which project week you would like to apply for, along with a CV to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject ‘SHADOWING ROLE - THE FERAL PROJECT’ by 1st May at 5pm
