a workshop charged with impulse. Bodies ready to sweat, dream and create what is unspoken, undone, and unmade.

Tune into what’s underneath the surface—where habits loosen, instincts rise up, and the body becomes both question and answer.

Guided by Adam Davies and Ru Lawrence, this one-day laboratory invites you to unravel what you know, release from what you expect, and open the door to what you’ve been holding onto too tightly.

Actions and Gesture becomes necessity.

Breath becomes architecture.

Contact with another becomes indispensable as we work to bridge the gap between ‘conscious’ and ‘unconscious’; the place where images, rhythms and stories begin to take shape. We will work with movement and dance, words and fragments of text, shaping the physical and the poetic into living, breathing creations.

This workshop is a moment to slow down more than you dare, to go deeper within the embrace of the ensemble.

This is a day to ask yourself: What is waiting to be made?

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Throughout the day, you will:

• Move—physically, physically, physically—into states that open new parts of yourself.

• Work with text, transforming it into embodied actions and dynamic scores.

• Layer sketches: blueprinting, distilling and expanding from idea to structure.

• Train rigorously—getting sweaty, awakening your impulses and sharpening your attention.

• Explore long-form improvisation and the nuanced work of ensemble play.

• Develop solo and collaborative material, discovering how experiments ripple through others.
